River Michaels

River has been a student of sacred plants since they were 19. Most recently they apprenticed San Pedro/Huachuma under Javier Reguiero, one of the few sacred plant teachers who was, (RIP), openly gay.  River has assisted and led more than 50 San Pedro/Huachuma ceremonies focused on returning to wholeness.

River created the Awake Forward coaching method, a prep and integration protocol that enables one to get the most out of their retreat experience. They also host the Awake Forward and Entrepreneur’s Awakening podcasts.

River identifies as a trans person who enjoys they/she pronouns when that happens. She lives in the Bay Area with her 11-year-old son. Their prayer for 2024 is to find more ways to serve the queer community.
